Ruislip Manor Library and Learning Resource Centre opened in Autumn 2007. The new library is open plan, has a cafe and offers rooms for community use as well as adult education classes. Residents of Hillingdon Borough can use their new computers free of charge.

The building has an additional level which contains 8 flats. The council is selling the flats to first time buyers for 70% of the market value under a pilot initiative. The aim is to help young people get onto the housing ladder.

The Polish War Memorial is situated adjacent to the roundabout on the A40 at its junction with the A4180 and is a well known local landmark.

The memorial commemorates the service and indeed sacrifice made by Polish airmen who were stationed at RAF Northolt during WW2.

RAF Northolt was a fighter station during this time and was the base for many Allied airmen from Europe and as far afield as Canada.

Green Flag award winner in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. Green Heritage award winner since 2006. Ruislip Woods is set in 726 acres and forms a large complex of structurally diverse and species-rich ancient woodland.

The Ruislip Woods include one of the most extensive oak/hornbeam coppice woods in southeast England. The site also includes acid and neutral grassland, ponds, streams and marshland.

Ruislip Lido started life in 1811 as Ruislip Reservoir and was built as a feeder for what we now call the Grand Union Canal. The Lido covers an area of approximately 150 acres and is an extremely popular destination for locals and visitors to Ruislip.

The Lido has a man-made beach, a great play area (with some new features) and a cafe that opens most weekends. There's also Ruislip Lido Railway which is popular with familes with young children and again runs most weekends.

The Lido is a great venue if you want some exercise or a breath of fresh air you can walk around the lake using the recently laid concrete path.

The close proximity of RAF Northolt to London has meant that the Station has always had an important role to play in supporting the country.

Be it in the early days of aviation development following the establishment of the airfield in 1915, through the Second World War when the unit was home to several squadrons involved in the Battle of Britain, to the modern day when the Station is often the backdrop to events on the World Stage.
